The Chairman of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA), Alhaji Yusuf Hamisu Abubakar (Mai Rago), has dismissed speculations that he is eyeing a senatorial seat in Kaduna State in the forthcoming 2027 elections.

Hamisu, a known ally of Governor Uba Sani, said he has no plans to contest for any political office at the moment, including the Senate seat for Kaduna-Central.
In a chat with VoL, the former PTDF boss said his priority remains the re-election of Governor Uba Sani and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
“I wish to clearly state that I have no intention of contesting for any position at this time, including the senatorial seat for Zone 2.
“My current focus is fully aligned with supporting the re-election of Senator Uba Sani as Governor and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu”, he stated.
Hamisu further urged the public to disregard the rumours making the rounds about his alleged political ambition, describing them as unfounded and misleading.
